Berlin team Mücke Motorsport ended the second last ADAC Formula Masters season event at the weekend (14th to 16th September) with a victory, a second and a third place. Following his victory at the Lausitzring home game (24th to 26th August), Hendrik Grapp from Berlin stepped once again onto the podium. The rookie of the German Capital’s racing team , finished race 21 on Sunday afternoon with a repeat winning performance. Grapp, driving for the ADAC Berlin Brandenburg and sponsored by the ADAC Sports Foundation, had already achieved a second place in the first of the weekend’s races.

„To continue on with another victory just after the win in the Lausitz and to top it with a second place in addition is just an overwhelming feeling. Thank you to my team and all my sponsors and mentors who have supported me right from the start“, said Grapp who had taken over the lead of race 21 immediately after the start and confidently defended his position all the way. The race before saw him being pushed off into the field while in fourth position, which did not stop him from crossing the finishing line as seventh nevertheless. With his successful weekend (39 points), the Berlin man improved his ranking in the strong junior series to an overal tenth place.

„Hendrik seems to have cracked it. He delivered another great performance throughout the weekend, confirming his upwards trend without a doubt“, said Mücke race engineer Frank Lucke.  We are now hoping to prove his capabilities once more at the end of September at the season finals in Hockenheim“. Another Formula newcomer, Luca Caspari 9Meerbusch), also sponsored by the ADAc Sports Foundation, also received praise: „After being pushed off the track by a competitor in race 20, Luca chased after the lead furiously from the rear of the field and managed to step onto the podium at the end“, explains Frank Lucke. Caspari, fifth on Saturday, had finished as sixth on Sunday afternoon but was moved up due to time penalties of drivers ahead of him. He now ranks eighth in the overall table.

Jason Kremer, sponsored by the ADAC Sports Foundation and the Deutsche Post Speed Academy, had moved forward by three places in the same way in this race and was listed as fourth. Having finished race 20 as eighth, he started from the pole position but had to watch on as his team colleague Hendirk Grapp passed him right at the start. Saturday saw kremer finishing in eleventh place. After the second last station of the season, he remains in overall third place, but will have to quit his hopes for the title. Also represented in the top ten is Israeli Roy Nissany, ranking seventh, finishing eighth and sixth at the  Nürburgring but having been taken out of race 21’s ratings due to an accident resulting in a penalty. Florian Herzog from Dresden (sponsored by the ADAC Sports Foundation), finished in tenth place on Saturday but was unlucky the day after when a cmopetitor’s car touched his, slashing his tyre. The final Nürburgring race saw herzog, starting from place 15, finishing up as ninth, overall ratings record him in 13th place.

The ADAC Formula Masters season finals take place on the Hockenheimring with races 22 to 24 from 28th to 30th September.
