They can become legends. Thousands of spectators listen to their familiar voices. The ATS Formula 3 Cup will have a new voice this season; Robert Köhler will be the new commentator of the ATS Formula 3 Cup. A rookie in motorsports, the 26-year old presenter from Berlin knows exactly how to engage people. His years of experience at big events speak in his favour.

Robert Köhler is meticulously preparing for his new task at the moment, meeting with professionals, researching the history and using every opportunity for a personal conversation. He will make his debut as the commentator of the ATS Formula 3 Cup in Oschersleben at the end of April. The man from Berlin intends to get close to the drivers, teams and organising team in order to keep the fans up-to-date from behind the scenes. “I want genuine emotions from the paddock, great interview partners and interesting information from the past,” says Köhler, who is looking forward to his debut. That also includes a daily exchange with all people involved.

From football to the racetrack
Robert Köhler has years of experience in moderating live events. A highlight of his career: he entertained the masses at the public viewings in Berlin during the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship. The 26-year old is a true professional in his field: “Each and every event consists of informative content and lots of emotions. The big challenge for commentators is to communicate the necessary information and interesting facts while being aware of exciting moments and conveying them properly,” explains Köhler. “I regularly work as a host at different types of events and always have a lot of fun. It is also continuous practice. A happy and excited audience is the best award!”

Fire in the voice
Robert Köhler enjoys the complete trust of the Formula 3 Association. “We are convinced that we made the right decision by choosing Robert Köhler. He has both the voice and the fire that we want to spark in our fans,” says Sebastian Wittrisch, Head of Organisation. And Köhler adds: “That is exactly what I have seen in the ATS Formula 3 Cup so far: People who are passionate and extremely professional at the same time, whether they are drivers, teams or organisers. I am very excited about my first season and hope to be able to bring the fans a little closer to the racetrack!”

Robert Köhler will be the commentator at nine racing weekends in 2013, including the legendary ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race at the Nürburgring and two DTM events. The season kick-off will take place at the ADAC GT Masters event in Oschersleben at the last weekend of April.
