The German Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport with a podium placing at the Formula 3 European
The German Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport from Berlin scored a podium placing last weekend (17th to 19th of May) at the fourth season event of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship in Brands Hatch (England). The Swede Felix Rosenqvist finished third at the 12th run on Sunday, on Saturday he finished fourth and fifth. He kept his overall position two at the European Championship behind the Italian Raffaele Marciello, who won the 11th run on Saturday afternoon on the 1.929 km short track. On Sunday, he was first on the finish line, but was excluded afterwards. All drivers after him moved up one position, so the Austrian Lucas Auer won the race. Winner of the race on Saturday morning has been the British Alex Lynn (all Dallara Mercedes).
Mücke pilot Michael Lewis, who crashed into the crash barriers at the qualifying on Friday with his Dallara Mercedes race car and was brought to the Medical Center for a check-up, is well. „I am good, nothing is broken. Thanks to the team and the doctors, who helped me after my so far worst accident in motor sports“, the 22 year old US American said on Sunday. He will be back in a racing kart already this week. „We are all happy that Michael is okay. You can see on this case that the Formula 3 race cars fortunately have highest safety standards“, team principal Peter Mücke explained.
It is obvious that the racing stable from the German capital city was on track with only three cars after this accident of Lewis in Brands Hatch. Besides the good positions of Felix Rosenqvist, his team colleague Roy Nissany was happy as well. The Formula 3 rookie from Israel got his first points at all on Sunday, when he finished on position eight. He finished 18th and 23rd at the prior races. The Australian Mitchell Gilbert finished on 20th and 19th position and discarded after a technical damage on Sunday. His front wing was being damaged already at the first lap, he got a new one from the pit five laps after that, but the car broke down just before the end of the race.
The next racing weekend of the Formula 3 European Championship is scheduled for the 1st and 2nd of June on the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
