The German Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport again with Michael Lewis at the Formula 3
With all their four drivers, the German Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport from Berlin is on start at the fifth season event of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship this weekend (31st of May to 2nd of June) with the races 13 to 15 on the Red Bull Ring near Spielberg (Austria). The US-American Michael Lewis will be behind the wheel again for the racing stable from the German capital city after his racing brake due to an accident at the qualifying in Brands Hatch (England).
„I am physically in good condition now, just some bruises here and there, but all is ok”, the 22 year old said, who was at the track as a visitor after his check up at the Medical Centre in Brands Hatch. “I will start this weekend at Red Bull Ring and I am very excited about that. I didn’t have any tests before this race, but that is not a problem. I would like to run in the top 5 and generally be there at the front of the pack for this weekend”, the student told. „My goals for the rest of the season (second half starts after Spielberg) are still the same. It would be great to score a few wins and also score as many points for my team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport in the team standings as well.”
Besides Michael Lewis behind the wheel, again the Israeli Roy Nissany as well as the Australian Mitchell Gilbert (both rookies) will be hunting for points in Austria – and of course Felix Rosenqvist (all Dallara Mercedes), who is on second position in the rankings just like his team. And the Swede still has unfinished business to do on the Red Bull Ring, because even with good positions at the free practice and the qualifying there hasn’t been podium placings for him. „The Red Bull Ring is one of the circuits I’ve been looking the most forward to this year. I have a lot of unfinished business there“, the 21 year old said. „We have always been very competitive in Austria – last year, for example, I was on pole with a lap I wasn’t at all happy with – but we have had so much bad luck in the races and never even made it onto the podium due to various incidents and we intend to change that this year“, Felix Rosenqvist said, who was on the podium five times already this season: two wins, a second position and two third positions.
„We were really fast and had a great performance last year on the Red Bull Ring. We aim for that this year again“, team principal Peter Mücke said. „We hope for podium placings of Felix and that our Rookies Roy and Mitch finish in between the top ten and of course we are very happy to have Michael behind the wheel again.“
