Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport celebrates double success at the Sachsenring
Berlin team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport entered the ADAC Formula Masters racing weekend with a double success last Saturday at the Sachsenring. Berlin man Hendrik Grapp got to celebrate his first victory of the season with his 145 horsepower Formula ADAC Racer powered by Volkswagen ahead of his team colleague Maximilian Günther (Rettenberg). While 19 year old Hendrik Grapp achieved the podium for the second time after his second place at the season start in Oschersleben, Mücke Rookie Maximilian Günther, four years younger and sponsored by the ADAC Sports Foundation, occupied the podium for the fourth time following three third places so far.
„A brilliant experience to win on this traditional circuit which I found a big challenge last year. Additionally, it’s the best present I could get for my recently passed A-level exams“ reported a delighted Hendrik Grapp who had also delivered the best lap time.
Belgian Mücke newcomer Alessio Picariello, having started in the pole position ahead of his two team colleagues, was in the lead for a considerable length of time, before he had to complete a drive through penalty in the pit lane due to speeding during a yellow flag phase. The overall top of the table still scored a sixth place in the end. Runner up places in the ratings are shared by Günther and another competitor, with Grapp ranking fifth. In the team ratings, kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport, in action for the ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg further developped their lead.
Mücke Rookie Kim Luis Schramm (Wümbach) was on the way to achieve his first points on the rollercoaster track. He, too, drove too fast during the yellow flag phase and was penalised with a pit lane drive through, finishing as 13th. Four positions behind him was his Swiss team colleague Giorgio Maggi who had started from a rear position following some problems during the qualifying.
„Overall, our team had a great start into the weekend“, so team manager Peter Mücke. „We worked hard with the drivers and pushed hard in training, which we now see paying off. It was wonderful to watch Alessio, Hendrik and Maximilian start from the first three starting positions. Obviously, it would have been even better if all three would have crossed the finishing line as the first three but a double victory is a fantastic achievement, too.“
