REBELLION RACING TO START FROM SECOND ROW FOR THE 6 HOURS OF COTA.

rebellion00 2209

Nick Heidfeld and Mathias Beche secured the fourth fastest average laptime of 1:52.081 during the qualifying session for tomorrow’s 6 Hours of the Circuit Of The Americas, placing the #12 Lola-Toyota on the second row of the grid. The Swiss team will be aiming for another strong result after the podium secured in the previous round of the FIA World Endurance Championship at Interlagos.
The fourth fastest lap in the qualifying session allows the REBELLION Racing team to record an additional «pole position» in the FIA Endurance LMP1 Team Trophy, the fifth in five races this year.

The start of the 6 hour race will be at 11h00 local time Austin Texas, Sunday 22nd of September.

Nick Heidfeld : « The traction control did not work as expected so we switched it off.  After not having done a timed lap in the morning session, that was quite challenging but I enjoyed making the best of the situation. »

Mathias Beche : « I was not able to push as I wanted. We had some issues with brake balance and I also made a mistake in my second fastest lap that could have helped improve our average laptime. I like this track and start to get more experience with this car. I m confident for tomorrow’s race.»

Bart Hayden – REBELLION Racing Team Manager : « The weather conditions during the free practice sessions didn’t allow us to improve the car from Thursday’s test.  The setup of the car wasn’t quite where we wanted it to be for qualifying, but we will tweak it for tomorrow ready for the race.  Nick and Mathias did a good job during the qualifying session to extract the best laptimes from the car.
We are now looking forward to the race, the drivers and the team know what do to in the race to achieve a good result tomorrow. »
