Andrea Belicchi and Jean-Christophe Boullion with the Lola-Toyota #13 secured fourth place overall in the 6 Hours of Silverstone, a result that was like a gold medal. With this result REBELLION Racing won the race within the race, namely the Le Mans Series 6 Hours of Silverstone and they have taken the lead in the LMS Teams’ Championship. With this back to back win, after their victory at Imola last July, REBELLION Racing have scored enough points to make Lola-Toyota the winners of the LMS Manufacturers’ championship even with one race to go.

At the same time Jean-Christophe Boullion and Andrea Belicchi have closed the gap to the Pescarolo (car #16) drivers in the LMS Drivers’ classification, with just one point now between them.

The team’s sister car, Lola-Toyota #12 had to retire with just 20 minutes to go and did not score any points. A damaged alternator belt forced Nico Prost to stop the car at turn 8 of the Silverstone circuit, but he was in no in position to fix the problem.

In less than 10 days, the team will head to Estoril in Portugal for the finale of the Le Mans Series with the target of winning both the Teams’ and Drivers’ championships.

Andrea Belicchi, #13 Lola-Toyota driver
« We lost time because of the first safety car period and we had to change the front left tyre because of a puncture in my first stint. This costs us the third overall place, it is as simple as that. This Le Mans Series victory is very important for me and for the team. »

Jean-Christohe Boullion, #13 Lola-Toyota driver
« It’s always disappointing to miss a place on the overall podium but we are fighting for the LMS championship. We are happy to win the LMS race and to take good points for the championship classifications. The target today was to put maximum cars between us and the Pescarolo #16 car. We did that job. For the next race, the championship decision will be very close. »

Bart Hayden, Team Manager of REBELLION Racing
«The team should be proud of the job they’ve done this weekend. We are now closer than ever to our main objective of the season with the LMS team championship. I am proud of the guys and the drivers.
I am delighted that we have won the LMS Manufacturer championship for Lola-Toyota in the first year of our collaboration.
Now we have a lot of work to do to rebuild and prepare the cars for the final round in Estoril and not so much time in which to do it !. »
