The German Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport from Berlin had a lot of misfortune at the 60 th edition of the Macau Grand Prix of the Formula 3 this Sunday (17th of November) in China: The vice European champion Felix Rosenqvist (Sweden), starting from position two into the anniversary race, who started for the candidate „GR Asia with Mücke“ in Macau, already discarded at the first lap. A combatant crashed into the side of his Dallara Mercedes with about 200 km/h speed right on the first straight and damaged the front axle of Rosenqvist’s race car. „The race was over for Felix after the crash, right before it even really started. He had no fault and wasn’t able to do anything against it“, team principal Peter Mücke said. „We only can be happy that nothing really bad happened at the crash.“ Winner of the race has been the British Alex Lynn (Dallara Mercedes).

Felix Rosenqvist, who scored the first podium placing for the racing stable from the German capital city last year on position two on the 6.12 km long city course, counted on big chances for the title with his team this year. He finished second in the Qualifying Race on Saturday (16th of November) with the fastest lap time. „And with the performance of the car and the effort of the driver it has definitely been possible”, Peter Mücke explained. So this time the eleventh position of the Japanese Mücke pilot Yuhi Sekiguchi, who started from position 14, was the best placing for the racing stable from Berlin. His Netherland team colleague and Macau newbie Dennis van de Laar (both Dallara Mercedes) started from the end of the field – he stood still at the start of the Qualifying Race on Saturday – and finished on position 18. „With the starting positions after the Qualifying Race they haven’t had better chances“, Peter Mücke said.

His son Stefan Mücke, consultant of the Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport and Aston Martin works driver at the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), had a guest participation in the Vantage GT3 at the Macau GT Cup. At his premiere race on the city course the Berlin finished on position eight on Sunday (17th of November). Starting from position five into the race, his car was hit by a combatant and he had to drive into the pit for a tire change. After he returned on track on position 22, Stefan Mücke showed a great performance and made his way up to position eight.
