AVF signs Amberg for 2014 World Series By Renault campaign
While the World Series by Renault paddock has gathered in Alcaniz for the first official testing session of the season, AVF is eager to reveal their first driver for their 2014 campaign as the Spanish team owned and managed by Adrian Vallés has found an agreement with Swiss talent Zoel Amberg. A 21year old from Luzern, Amberg showed a lot of promise in the early stages of his career in F.Renault 2.0, F.Abarth and GP3 and this year he’ll be tackling his third full season in WSR: this means that Zoel is now ready to cash in on the experience he bagged in the last couple of years. Amberg is already behind the wheel of the orange-coloured #20 AVF car in Alcaniz, but this isn’t his debut with the team as the AVF-Amberg pairing has already tested in Monza in a very positive session that eventually led to completing the deal. Adrian Vallés: “I’m really happy to have Zoel with us. At our second season in World Series by Renault our aim for 2014 is to improve last year’s 8th place in the drivers’ standings, and I belive that Amberg is the right driver to do that. He’s talented and he is entering his third season in the championship, so he’s ready to battle with the best guys out there. We’ll do our best to prepare the season in the right way, and in the first races we’ll aim for top-five finishes”. Zoel Amberg: “Starting another season in World Series feels really good, and I’m glad that I’m doing that with Adrian and AVF. As you can imagine before making our choice we went through a thorough evaluation process, but we soon realized that AVF was the best option for us, and the test in Monza confirmed that. The feeling with the car was great, and the spirit in the team is very high too, so I couldn’t imagine a better place to try and make the most of all the racecraft I’ve acquired through my WSR commitment so far. Before the start of the season it’s hard to tell where you are, but my objective is definitely to fight steadily for top 5 finishes”.
