Florian Herzog to contest ATS Formula 3 Cup
Young talent Florian Herzog will have to wait another 50 or so days before the starting lights at the ATS Formula 3 Cup season opener at Oschersleben are switched off. Advancing to Germany’s fastest single-seater series this year, the former Formel ADAC contestant from Dresden will also take part in the official pre-season tests at Lausitzring and Oschersleben in early April.
“I did some initial tests in Formula 3 in winter, and now I cannot wait to get back into the car. The 250hp Formula 3 car has remarkable power and breathtaking curve speed due to its sophisticated aerodynamics. The acceleration and deceleration values are really impressive based on the low weight. However, the most interesting part is battling it out with my competitors,” says the 20-year old, who is clearly excited about his debut in Germany’s fastest single-seater series.
Broad support
Currently, Florian Herzog trains as an automotive sales management assistant in the Dresden Audi centre. Based on the successful motorsports history of the Ingolstadt-based premium manufacturer, Herzog enjoys the full support of his employer in his car racing activities. “I would like to thank the Dresden Audi centre as well as my partners and sponsors for their active support. I am completely focused and motivated for my new task in Formula 3 and will do my best to finish the season among the top contenders of the championship. Which team I will compete for, will be announced shortly.”
The ATS Formula 3 Cup season opener will take place at Oschersleben from April 25th to 27th. A live stream of all three races at a weekend will be available at the official website www.formel3.de. Additionally, fans can look forward to an extensive coverage in print media, on the Internet and TV.
