First pole position and first victory in the Eurocup, first pole positions and two victories in the ALPS Championship, the “EUROFORMULA VOLANT”  took all the prizes or nearly on the Castellet circuit. It was also the first time the World Series by Renault raced on the Provencal course and the success was assured with nearly 50,000 spectators who came to watch. Right fromthe first free practices,  Paul Loup Chatin was in leading positions and prepared his qualifier carefully and serenely. His rise in the ranks since the championship started again was confirmed when his pole position became a victory in the first race of the Eurocup!
Paul Loup Chatin: “I got to pole position in my group and it also happened to be the best time overall! I had a good start in the race and then I was happy to keep a good pace without making any mistakes and cross the line as the winner in front of both Redbull drivers! My car was really well balanced and the whole TECH 1 team did some great work. I know well that the next racing weekend will be more difficult but I will keep working in the same spirit with the whole team.”
The next day, the “EUROFORMULA VOLANT” had less success in the second qualifiers, fought out on drying tracks. He was caught out by the rain in the last laps and only made the 10th best time. Same for the race, where he found himself down in 13th place before finishing in 8th.
Paul Loup Chatin made up for it easily though in the ALPS Championship where he dominated all his adversaries, on the wet as well as on dry. “I was very satisfied with my ALPS weekend where I am first in the provisional general ranking thanks to my two victories,” announced the “EUROFORMULA VOLANT”, “I will be in  Spa to try and win this championship which I am leading by two small points.”
Another important goal is waiting for Paul Loup Chatin, to finish fifth in the general ranking of the Eurocup.
He is just four points away from this position and as Laurent Fradon, the Director of EUROFORMULA says: “Paul Loup is actually in sparkling form and I don’t doubt for one second that he cannot reach his end of season objectives. We are very satisfied with his performance which demonstrates the level of our training methods. The objective of the “EUROFORMULA VOLANT” is to help young drivers get the best possible start in motorsport, that’s what we did with Paul Loup before his TECH 1 team took over and brought him to where he is now. We will all be behind him to give him support during his next races!”
The next appointment is for the 1st  and 2nd October on the  Spa-Francorchamps track for the last leg of the ALPS and one week later for the final of the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 on the Barcelona track, October 8 and 9.
