F.Renault 3.5 – Jerez, Day 2 Two cars in the top ten for I.S.R
After topping the sheets on the first day of the Jerez F.Renault 3.5 test, ISR kept momentum on Tuesday: the Czech team closed today’s sessions with the 4th quickest time for Jazeman Jaafar and a solid top ten performance from Nigel Melker, proving once again that they’ll be one of the outfits to watch throughout the season that will start in 20-days time at Monza.
On a track that is particularly harsh in terms of tyre wear, ISR opted for splitting the day’s working programme in two, with the morning devoted to a double qualifying run and a race simulation scheduled for the afternoon. Thanks to a flawless job from the team’s technical staff everything went to plan, as clearly showed by the timesheets: Jaafar was 4th overall just one tenth off the day’s fastest time, while Melker finished in P10 only 0″5 adrift.
Loic David (Team Manager): “We have many reasons to be happy after such a good day. Our cars had a trouble-free run and once again we collected a lot of data that will prove useful to prepare for the season. Furthermore, our cars are performing well without giving the drivers an hard time, something that bodes well for our race performances. Now our aim is to close the testing days with a good performance tomorrow, then in a couple of weeks it will be race time!”
