I.S.R. ends pre-season testing with a successful race simulation

IRS 2603

The third and final day of the Jerez test officially brought the F.Renault 3.5 pre-season spell to an end. The next time the Zytek engines will be fired-up it will be for the first race weekend of the season in Monza, and thanks to the job carried out in the last couple of months ISR will get there in top form. After that the first and second day of running had seen the Czech team and Jazeman Jaafar shine thanks to some very quick laptimes, for Wednesday’s final effort ISR’s technical staff elected to keep the fast runs to a minimum (Jazeman made just a single outing on new rubber) and to focus on race simulations instead. Despite that the Malaysian’s pace was good enough to bring the Petronas-sponsored car in the overall top ten, proving once again that the outfit owned by Igor Salaquarda and managed by Loic David will be one of the performance benchmarks for the 2014 season.

“Overall it was a really positive three-day test for us. On each day we made progress, and we were quick both in race and qualifying trim, which gives me confidence for the first round of the season in Monza. If I’d have to pick the best thing from our pre-season testing form, I’d say it’s undoubtedly the fact that we were always challenging for the top five positions. We’re definitely up there, it should be a fun season”.
