That has been a patchy season opening of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship for the German Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport from Berlin last weekend (18th to 20th of April). Four placings in the points ranking on the traditional track in Silverstone (England) in the first three out of 33 championship runs are the result. Lucas Auer, the newbie from Austria at the racing stable from the German capital city, gathered the most points of the driver trio on the positions 5, 12 and 8 and is now on position seven at the overall rankings. Last year’s vice champion Felix Rosenqvist from Sweden finished ninth, 14th and seventh and is on position ten at the overall rankings. The Israeli Roy Nissany (all Dallara Mercedes) missed the top ten on the positions 20, 22 and 16.

„We are not really there yet, where we want to be. We were searching for the right setup the whole weekend, but couldn’t find the optimum solution yet“, team principal Peter Mücke said. „In the end all we did is damage containment with our four positions in the points ranking.“ Thanks to last year’s fifth Lucas Auer and Felix Rosenqvist each with impressing catch up races from the middle of the field in the first and third run. „We still have a lot of work to do until the season opening in Germany in about two weeks “, team principal Peter Mücke said.

Winners of the races in Silverstone have been the British Tom Blomqvist (Dallara Volkswagen), Esteban Ocon (France) and Antonio Fuoco (Italy/both Dallara Mercedes). The second season event of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship is scheduled from 2nd to 4th of May in the main schedule of the DTM season opening on the Hockenheimring.
