A victory, a second position and two fastest race laps for the German Team kfzteile24 Mücke
The German Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport from Berlin returns from the third season event of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship in French Pau (9th to 11th of May) with a victory, a second position and two fastest race laps. Felix Rosenqvist scored his first win of this season in the last race on Sunday afternoon on the 2.76 km long city course, where the runs seven to nine took place. The vice champion of 2013 won the 73rd edition of the „Grand Prix de Pau“. At the opening of the racing weekend on Saturday morning, the Austrian Lucas Auer scored the second place for the racing stable from the German capital city. The Israeli Roy Nissany (all Dallara Mercedes) got points on position nine in the race on Sunday morning.
„After all, we can be very satisfied with the results of this weekend on the city course under partly tough conditions“, team principal Peter Mücke said. „The performance of our cars and drivers was great. And if Felix wouldn’t have been forced off in the second race, he would have won it as well. Roy, who scored points for the second time this season, did a great job too and gathered a lot of experience.“ And an extra compliment by the team principal goes to Tatiana Calderon (Dallara Mercedes), who just came to the Berlin racing stable from a different team. „Tatiana provides great performance in this tough and balanced field of drivers at the FIA Formula 3 European Championship – and that with a rather low level of experience”, Peter Mücke said. The 21 year old, who is now “permanently appointed for kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport until the end of the season, amazed me. We will hear a lot of good things from her in the future I am sure”, Peter Mücke said, whose racing stable is on position three at the overall rankings at the moment.
The best placed Mücke pilot is Lucas Auer on position three. Besides his second place at the race on Saturday, the overall fifth of last year finished on the positions seven and six on Sunday. Felix Rosenqvist had technical difficulties at the Qualifying and started from position 22 at the first race in Pau, but made up eight positions in the race. At the second run, where he marked the fastest lap time as well as in the last race, he was forced off on second position by the leading and overall first positioned French Esteban Ocon (Dallara Mercedes, winner on Saturday) and discarded early. The bigger the happiness has been for the 22 year old, who is on overall position nine now, after his first season win. „That is absolutely fantastic. After all the troubles beforehand I decided to win this race for myself.“ And that is what the Swede did after a great start from position two. „I am a big fan of city courses and Pau is just unique. That is why this victory means a lot to me.“
The fourth season event of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship is scheduled from 30th of May to 1st of June on the Hungaroring near Budapest.
