After a brake of three weeks the next event of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship is scheduled for next weekend (20th to 22nd of June) for the German Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport from Berlin. The season runs 13 to 15 will take place in Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) in between the main schedule of the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). After the lastly three third and two fourth positions in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship on the Hungaroring near Budapest, the racing stable from the German capital city aims on the next step forward. „We want to win races in Belgium – like we want to at every season event “, team principal Peter Mücke said. „Felix and Lucas as well as our cars showed this year already that they are able to achieve that.“
The Austrian Lucas Auer (in Hockenheim) and the Swede Felix Rosenqvist (in French Pau) were able to score one win each so far. Auer is on third position of the drivers ranking at the moment and Rosenqvist on position seven. The Israeli Roy Nissany, who is on overall position 17, finished in the point rankings two times this year. The Colombian Tatiana Calderon (all Dallara Mercedes) missed the top ten positions slightly so far. „Roy and Tatiana developed great during the season. So they should be able to score some points in Spa-Francorchamps“, Peter Mücke said.
The 7.004 km long track through mountains and valleys in the Ardennes is very tough to drive and a real challenge for the young-guns. „You need to have courage, but our drivers do have the right attitude. The aim is now to get good starting positions for the races at the qualifying on Friday“, the racing stable owner explained. „Our whole team is highly motivated and well prepared for any contingencies. Because you always have to count on changing weather in Spa, which has influence on the race conditions in a very short time.“
