I.S.R. Racing ends Budapest test day in 7th place
I.S.R. Racing showed good pace today at the Hungaroring, as the World Series by Renault lined-up at the Hungarian venue for the 7th round of 2014. The Czech squad and their driver, 21-year-old Jazeman Jaafar, posted a solid day of work despite dealing with some DRS issues in the opening testing session, which was run wet conditions. The inconvenience cost Jaafar valuable running time but he rebounded well in the afternoon, running again with wet weather tires before moving to scrubbed slicks and then to sticker tires to score 7th place.
The Malaysian, who also enjoyed a Formula 1 test this week, tamed the heavy load of traffic the asphalt got dry enough to move to dry tires and looks forward to capitalize on the solid work done today.
The action will be back underway tomorrow with the running of Qualifying 1 at 10:00 and Race 1 at 14:00 local time.
Jazeman Jaafar – Testing 1: P19 – Testing 2: P7
In the first session we faced an issue with the DRS and we had to come back to the pits to fix it, losing some valuable running time in the process. We also had some brake overheating problems that continued in the afternoon. In the second session we started off on rain tires and got a good build-up. We continued well on scrubbed ones before going for new rubber in the end, a move that turned out with a 7th place in the end”.
