Team AVF by Adrián Vallés experienced an up-and-down day at the Hungaroring track in Budapest. The Spanish squad ended up Race 2 of the World Series Renault 3.5 event in Hungary with an extremely convincing 12th place scored by 19-year-old rookie Beitske Visser. The Dutch female racer was off to a sensational start both as the lights went off and at the first corner, where she masterfully got around a multi-car contact to move from 19th to 13th place.
After that, she continued to push hard, showing the results of the good job done in learning a new track despite the unpredictable weather. As the conditions stayed dry for the whole day, she showcased her full potential, passing one more opponent at a late pit-stop and ending up in 12th position.
Swissman Zoël Amberg was off to a much tougher run. After starting from the 10th row on the grid, he was slowed by clutch woes but didn’t back down, making his way up to the 15th position. Zöel is looking forward to Paul Ricard as well as the whole team. Round 8 of the World Series Renault 3.5 will go underway in two weeks at the French venue.
Beitske Visser – Q2: P19 – R2: P12

“The race went really well. I got off to a very quick start and then, at the first corner, I chose the right line to avoid a big incident moving all the way up to the 13th position. Then I was stuck behind Mavlanov, who’s very difficult to overtake, so I came back to the pits. The team did a great job and I managed to gain the position. Then I continued with a good pace and finished in 12th. I’m satisfied for this results and I’m looking forward to the next round”.
Zoël Amberg – Q2: P20 – R2: P15

“It’s clearly not where we wanted to end this weekend at Budapest, but unfortunately I faced a trouble with the clutch, or with the downshift. The rear wheels were locking almost every time so it was almost impossible to keep the pace we could have. Tough weekend here at the Hungaroring. But I know the Paul Ricard track well and I hope to rebound with a good result there.”
