I.S.R. Racing scores second points finish in Budapest WSR 3.5 event
I.S.R. Racing experienced a comeback Race 2 at the Hungaroring. Malaysian Jazeman Jaafar managed to overturn a tough second qualifying and made his way back to the points zone as he lined-up for the closing day of World Series Renault 3.5 action at the Magyar venue. Jaafar, who was blocked during his fastest lap during the morning session, made a quick gateway at the start and fought his way up the charts, managing to move on from 16th place on the grid to a very positive 8th position as the flag fell.
Despite the hard luck in qualifying, the 21-year-old driver from Kuala Lumpur showcased once again his skills and pace, safely cruising towards a double points finish in extremely complicated weather. He could also count on some special support, as his parents and representatives from Petronas flew their way from Malaysia to Budapest in order to attend the event.
The next round of the World Series by Renault will be in two weeks at the magnificent Paul Ricard facility in Le Castellet, France.

“It’s been a good recovery although I’m still a little disappointed by the qualifying. I was held up for two laps on blue flags and lost the chance to set a quick lap. The start of the race was good, I moved on two cars and then, after the long safety-car, I passed Sorensen. Then I made my way to the pits for an early stop and I was able to catch our strongest opponents. Unfortunately, with about nine laps to go my rear tires started to drop a little and in the end I settled for 8th place. Now we must concentrate in keeping the momentum at Paul Ricard”.
