I.S.R. Racing ends W.S.R. Day 1 with third place
It’s been a positive day with lots of learning for the I.S.R. Racing stable at Circuit Paul Ricard, in the first day of activity for the World Series Renault 3.5 at the French venue. After the tough weather conditions of Budapest, warm temperatures and clear skies were a relieving feature in Le Castellet. On the other hand, the Czech squad also performed flawlessly, proving to be in-shape.
In the two sessions of practice, 21-year-old Malaysian Jezeman Jaafar performed consistently, working his way towards the front of the pack and scoring the third fastest lap at the end of the day, just 16 hundreds of a second away from the lead. Also, the team successfully improved the car’s performance in terms of the tires, building some momentum for Saturday.
Jazeman and I.S.R. Racing will be back on-track for qualifying 1 at 9:40 AM, before lining-up for race 1 at 13:00 PM.
Jazeman Jaafar – FP1: P12 – FP2: P3
“In free practice 1 the track was quite tricky because there wasn’t a lot of rubber on it and the grip was missing. Then for the second we made a big change and it went better both on new and old tires and that allowed me to score P3 despite all the traffic in the latest stages. Also, the tires seem to last more which is great. I look forward to keep the same pace for the whole weekend”.
