In so doing, the two Rebellion R-One Toyota cars will start tomorrow’s race from the fourth row on the grid.
Once again the starting positions for the #12 and #13 cars will promise an exciting race for both of REBELLION Racing’s R-One cars.
The race will start on Sunday 2nd November at 11 am local time (3 am GMT).
Mathias Beche – Rebellion R-One Toyota #12
« It’s another good performance for #12, we took the best of our car in terms of ultimate pace. It was the best we could do against the Hybrid cars. Nico did a great job to manage to keep a good average and preserve the tyres for the race. We have to work for tomorrow because tyre degradation will be a key factor during the race. We want to finish the race and be as close as possible to the cars at the front. We will see ! »
Nicolas Prost – Rebellion R-One Toyota #12
« I drove during my quali laps with some reserve in order to keep the tyres in good condition for the start of the race tomorrow. Our pace is good but we are still far from the factory cars. What we have to do is to run our race and be focused on where the sister car #13 is. It’s a competitive car with all good drivers. We aim to finish the race without the problems we had at Fuji. »
Fabio Leimer – Rebellion R-One Toyota #13
« We didn’t have the best feeling with the car, so we are a bit disappointed with how quali went. We will start the race P2, so it’s not really bad but we need to use a diferent setup for tomorrow’s race to make the car easier to drive. So we have some work to do to be ready for the race.»
Dominik Kraihamer – Rebellion R-One Toyota #13
« We took a risk to change the setup of the car before the quali session and it didn’t really pay off. The car was more difficult to drive than this morning. I had a lot of traffic also and only two timed laps because we ran low fuel. I could not push as hard as I wanted, which was a bit disappointing, but I’m sure that we will be better in the race.»
Bart Hayden – Rebellion Racing Team Manager
« We found a good improvement in laptimes with both of our cars during the qualifying session. It is close between our two cars, so both sets of drivers and crews did well. We now need to turn the qualifying pace into a good race pace, so some little changes on the set up of the cars will be made overnight. Thankfully the rain held off so the qualifying session was held in pretty good conditions, that helped us to validate some set up ideas which will help guide our choices for the race. We are starting from the positions on the grid that we expected to be in and are looking forward to a good race tomorrow. »
