NWES CARS SELECTED FOR THE RACE OF CHAMPIONS ONCE AGAIN!
The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Cars Will Be Featured In The 2014 Edition Taking Place On Dec 13-14
For the fifth consecutive time the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series cars have been selected as one of the different kind of vehicles that ten of the best drivers in the world will race in the classic end-of-the-season event.
On Dec. 13-14 international stars like Kurt Busch, defending champion Romain Grosjean, David Coulthard, Petter Solberg, Ryan-Hunter-Reay, Tom Kristensen, Jamie Whincup – and many more from all kind of motorsports discplines will challenge each other on a spectacular parallel track, built on the island of Barbados, to decide who’s the best overall driver around, at least until next year. The NWES cars, with their 400 hp V8s, will be among the cars serving as benchmark in the event.
“We are proud of this selection and we thank Fredrik Jonhson, Michele Mouton and their team for their confidence for the fifth year,” said Jerome Galpin, President – CEO of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series.
The tradition of the Race Of Champions dates back to 1988, when the first edition took place in Paris, and during the years has brought the best drivers of the world – Including multiple NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champions Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson – to race at the wheel of a variety of cars all over the World, from Gran Canaria to Beijing. The fifth consecutive selection for the Euro-NASCAR cars demonstrates once again their unique character and the ability to provide huge fun to every type of driver, from beginners to world champions.
The competition articulates on two distinct races: the Nations Cup, in which two drivers form a nation’s team and challenge each other to determine the best national team, and the Race Of Champions, the individual competition.
