It’s been a tough day in the office for the whole AVF stable today at Jerez de la Frontera. As the Spanish squad lined-up for the first preseason test of the 2015 World Series Renault, several team members, including driver Beitske Visser and Team Manager Adrián Vallés suffered from food poisoning.

Despite facing tough physical conditions, the Dutch female racer managed to put together a top-5 performance, ending up the afternoon segment in fourth place. On the second AVF Dallara, Mexican Alfonso Celis Jr did a great job too, carrying on the planned comparisons between high-downforce and low-downforce setups. Overcoming the many red-flag situations that disrupted the day’s activity, he was able to score the 13th fastest lap of the afternoon.

“I had no physical problems, and this pretty unusual for the first time on this kind of car, but it’s fine, it means I had a good preparation over the winter. I spun a couple of times, one in the same corner where Stoneman had his massive crash. It means that in such a flat-out corner is pretty easy to go over the limit”.

“I’m a bit sick today, I don’t feel 100% and maybe this was not the best way to begin the season. Anyway we did good comparisons between high and low downforce setups, working well for tomorrow. It’s been a little annoying to work with so many red flags, but we didn’t use new tyres in the morning so I’m pretty confident about the potential result”.
