The German Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport scored four top ten placing at the opening of the FIA Formula 3
The German Team kfzteile24 scored four top ten placings and thereby the first points at the first three out of 33 races at the opening of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship in Silverstone (England) this weekend (10th to 12th of April). The drivers started at this traditional track in the main schedule of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).
The first two points scored Maximilian Günther (Rettenberg), who is on start as newbie at the Formula 3 for the racing stable from the German capital city and was vice champion of the ADAC Formula Masters, on position nine at the race on Saturday morning. The US American Santino Ferrucci and the Dane Mikkel Jensen finished with points on the positions nine and ten in the afternoon. And Jensen also finished tenth on Sunday morning. The best placing for the Italian Michele Beretta in the field of 35 drivers at the toughest rookie series in the world was position 19 and for the Chinese Kang Ling (all Dallara Mercedes) it was 21.
„The first race weekend actually went as I expected it“, said team principal Peter Mücke. „Of course, for our very young talents it is hard to score positions at the front of this high class field at the first go. Altogether the guys did a good job, fought hard and certainly learned a lot. And three of our fosterlings already scored the first points. The season opening has been an important experience for all the drivers and the teams as well.“
Winners of the race have been the Swede Felix Rosenqvist (Dallara Mercedes), the British George Russell and Charles Leclerc from Monaco (both Dallara Volkswagen). The second racing weekend of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship is scheduled from 1 st to 3rd of May in the main schedule of the DTM season opening in Hockenheim.
