The German team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport from Berlin scored a lot of points as well as trophies at the rookie ranking at the second season event of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship this weekend (1st to 3 rd of May) at the Hockenheimring with the races 4, 5 and 6 in the main schedule of the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) season opening. Maximilian Günther (Rettenberg) barely missed the podium on position four and twice on position five. At the rookie drivers’ standings, where the best German of all three races finished second twice and one time third, the Mücke pilot is on position four at the moment. At the overall drivers’ standings of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship he is on position seven now.

But also the other drivers of the racing stable from the German capital city showed a good performance. The Dane Mikkel Jensen finished fourth ahead Günther at the rain race on Sunday and scored points on Friday as well on position eight. Jensen, who barely missed the top ten on position eleven on Saturday, is on position six of the rookie drivers’ standings and eleven of the overall drivers’ standings. Three positions behind him there is the US-American Santino Ferrucci, whose best results were position six on Saturday and eleven on Friday. The best result for the Italian Michele Beretta in between the field of 35 drivers at the toughest offspring series in the world has been position 19 and for the Chinese Kang Ling (all Dallara Mercedes) it has been 24.

„I am very pleased with the performance of our young drivers in Hockenheim. They are new in this high class series and still have to gather experience“, said team principal Peter Mücke. „Maxi had great results – on dry and on wet track. But also our other drivers improved their performance, especially at the rain race on Sunday. We are on a good way.“

Winners of the races in Hockenheim have been the Italian Antonio Giovinazzi (Dallara Volkswagen), the Swede Felix Rosenqvist (Dallara Mercedes) and Charles Leclerc from Monaco (Dallara Volkswagen). The third racing weekend of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship is scheduled from 15th to 17th of May at the city course in Pau (France).
