It’s been a constantly-improving weekend for AVF at Spa-Francorchamps. After scoring a 13th place in race 1, Mexican Alfonso Celis Jr captured the 11th position in race 2, getting really close to the points zone. The team, directed by Adrián Vallés welcomed back Beitske Visser, who started from the 13th place but had to retire after 21 minutes due to a battery issue.
Alfonso Celis Jr (#15) Qualy 2: P14 2’00”732 – Race 2: P11 +38”223

“We haven’t been really quick in qualifying, as I felt a certain lack of speed in the first and third sector, while in the second one I had the same pace of the others. I made a good start, and managed the first-corner traffic unscathed which is usually a very difficult task. I continued to climb my learning curve with this car and now I look forward to Budapest”.
Beitske Visser (#16) Qualy 2: P13 2’00”270 – Race 2: DNF

“With the first set of tires we were among the fastest in qualifying, sitting in third, but by the end of the session we had to content with the seventh row. During the race I had a good start. I tried to avoid making contact with the other drivers while keeping my position. Then I felt a drop in terms of speed and I had to stop at Malmedy for a battery issue”.
The next round for the WSR will be on the 13th and 14th of June at Budapest
