A new direction for the Marc VDS Racing Team
Following on from their maiden victory in the prestigious 24 Hours of Spa last weekend, the Marc VDS Racing Team will undergo a management restructure to better equip the team to meet the challenges of the future.
While the main aim of the restructuring is to ensure that the Marc VDS Racing Team operates more efficiently whilst remaining competitive, it has also been implemented to forge a closer working relationship between the car and motorcycle elements of the team.
The restructuring process will see the departure of Team Principal, Bas Leinders, who leaves by mutual consent to pursue other projects.
“We achieved one of our long term goals with our first win at the 24 Hours of Spa and now we must look to the future,’ explained Team President, Marc van der Straten. “Currently we have two teams competing in different disciplines, both with their own management and logistical support. The aim of the restructuring is to bring these two teams together, allowing us to streamline the management and logistical infrastructure whilst still benefitting from the experience we have within the team.”
“It will be a big change, but one that that will leave the team leaner, more efficient and, ultimately, more competitive.”
“I’d like to thank Bas for his contribution to the team and I wish him all the best with his future endeavours,” concluded Mr van der Straten.
The Marc VDS Racing Team will make a further announcement about the new management structure mid-September.
