Two top ten placings for the German team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport
The German team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport from Berlin scored two top ten placings at the eighth season event of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship with the season runs 22 to 24 last weekend (1st/2nd of August) at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg (Austria). The Dane Mikkel Jensen finished tenth on Saturday morning and ninth in the afternoon. The 24th run was delayed at first due to heavy rain, then it was started behind the Safety-Car, aborted again and after another try it was cancelled finally. Jensen was graded 13th.
The US American Santino Ferrucci, Jensen’s team colleague of the racing stable from the German capital city slightly missed the point rankings on the positions 12, 13 and 11. Maximilian Günther (Rettenberg) finished on position 14 on Saturday afternoon. The best placing of the Italian Michele Beretta was position 18, the Chinese Kang Ling (all Dallara Mercedes) finished on position 26 in the strong field of about 35 drivers at the 4.326 km long track.
„It was very tough for all the drivers, but all experienced drivers had a big advantage at the Red Bull Ring. Our youngsters did quite well“, said team principal Peter Mücke. „Of course we would prefer placings at the front of the field. But it is a tough competition with a lot of drivers and the youngsters have to gather a lot of important experience.“ The best placed Mücke pilot at the drivers ranking is Maximilian Günther on position eight followed by Mikkel Jensen and Santino Ferrucci on ten and eleven. Günther and Jensen are on the positions five and six of the rookie championship.
The ninth season event of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship with the runs 25 to 27 is scheduled from 4th to 6th of September in Portimão (Portugal).
