REBELLION Racing is back to Texas as the team heads to the Lone Star Le Mans with the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas endurance race on Saturday, September 19 in Austin. Hopes are high as the team prepares to tackle again the 3.4-mile, 20-turn course that will host the fifth round of the 2015 FIA World Endurance championship.

Going into the 6 Hours of COTA, REBELLION Racing is leading the LMP1 Privateer classification of the FIA World Endurance Championship with #12 Rebellion R-One AER in front of the #13 sister car. Winner in the Privateer LMP1 of the first two editions of the 6 Hours of COTA, the REBELLION Racing team is aiming to add a third victory in Texas and strengthen their positions in the championship.

Both cars’ driver line-ups are unchanged with the #12 Rebellion R-One AER being shared by Nick Heidfeld, Nicolas Prost and Mathias Beche. Daniel Abt, Alexandre Imperatori and Dominik Kraihamer will be behind the wheel of the #13 Rebellion R-One AER.

The 6 Hours of COTA will start a 5h00 pm local time (23h00 GMT), TV coverage will contain FOX Sport 1 and 2 in the USA, Eurosport and Motors TV in Europe.

In memory of Damien “Damo” Lewis, the N°1 Mechanic of car #13 who tragically passed away after the Nurburgring race, “Damo” stickers will be placed on the cars and drivers / crew helmets. The FIA WEC will also be holding one minute of applause in memory of Damo during the build up to the start of the race on Saturday.

Bart Hayden – REBELLION Racing Team Manager : « We are heading to the 6 Hours of COTA race with more confidence since the Nurburgring. At the Nurburgring the result was not what we were expecting (2nd place and a DNS), but on the positive side we learned a lot on the car during that weekend. We faced some issues and we were able to fix some of them during the race. I hope that we will have improved reliability and will have a good race here in Austin to carry on the development of the Rebellion R-One AER.
The team are all supporting each other as we remember Damo and reflect upon his sad loss, the garage is not the same without him, but we will be giving our best to try to get a result that he would be proud of. »
