Rookie victory for AVF in Le Mans Eurocup round
AVF by Adrián Vallés scored another rookie win at Le Mans, in the penultimate round of the 2015 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. Running at the French venue in the Formula Renault 3.5 feeder series, the team fielded a 2-car effort consisting of Harrison Scott and Denis Bulatov. The British racer cruised to victory among rookies by ending up 10th overall in race 2, while the Russian ran in an AVF-prepared racecar for the first time. Coming from the Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS championship, he proved ready for the challenging European environment. He ended the weekend with an 18th and a 19th place.
Harrison Scott (#27) Race 1: DSQ – Race 2: P10 +8”740
“All weekend right from the start we showed we had quite a good pace. Yesterday obviously getting P3 in grid and fifth overall was a great start of the weekend. Unfortunately we had contact in the first race and a bad start pushed me right down the order and out of the points. So this is really disappointed. This morning come back with fresh mind again, we had a good qualifying, really tight at the top. I was fourth in grid and could start in eight overall, so I was really happy with how the car was performing and then I made a good start. I got into fifth on the first lap. From then it was just start trying to keep up with the pace and not making mistakes, keeping everyone else behind me. To be the top rookie is a great achievement. All the team worked very hard over the weekend. In the last few races we had bad luck and a few penalties and I am happy to be back in the points”.
Denis Bulatov (#58) Race 1: P18 +27”049 – Race 2: P19 +25”165
“I’m really satisfied with my Eurocup debut with AVF. The field is really tight here and I had to deal with a really competitive environment, even more than in the ALPS series where I normally race. I had never driven here at Le Mans and I had to find the right chemistry straight away. I also had some battles and that increased my experience”.
The next round for the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup is scheduled for the 18th of October at Jerez
