REBELLION Racing secured their fourth Pole Position of the season amongst the LMP1 Privateers at Fuji Speedway for tomorrow’s 6 Hours of Fuji race, the sixth round of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship.

Daniel Abt and Alexandre Imperatori in the Rebellion R-One AER #13 out qualified the sister car #12 driven by Mathias Beche and Nicolas Prost. The German/Swiss duo in #13 achieved an average lap time of 1:28.492 and a fastest lap of 1:28.175.

In so doing, the two Rebellion R-One AER cars will start tomorrow’s race from the fourth row on the grid.

Nicolas Prost topped the whole field with the best top speed after the qualifying session with 316.7 km/h recorded during Free Practice 2. Daniel Abt was ranked second in top speed with 314 km/h recorded during the qualifying session.

Daniel Abt – Rebellion R-One AER #13 : « I am happy with the qualifying result, but I think I could have been a bit faster. We were struggling with a lack of grip in free practice, grip really improved during the qualifying session and on the first lap I didn’t know what to expect. It’s good to be in front of the sister car and I hope we will have a trouble free race tomorrow. »

Alexandre Imperatori – Rebellion R-One AER #13 : « The car was pretty good in quali. We had some issues at the beginning of the weekend and we solved those. It’s good to show some good performance and to put mileage on the cars, we are going in the right direction. I think there was a bit more in the bag, we had a great improvement from free practice 3. With the weather forecast for tomorrow’s race not being so good, we don’t know what to expect. I hope that we will have a clean race and a good result for us and the team at the end of the race. »

Bart Hayden – REBELLION Racing Team Manager : « We are pleased with today’s qualifying session result, we are starting from the positions on the grid that we expected to be in. It is close between our two cars, so both sets of drivers and crews did well. Car #13 used two sets of tyres in the quail session, but car #12 only used one set and was a bit unlucky to be blocked by a competitor’s car whilst they were on a quick lap. Anyway, we have made a strong step forward with the cars. The nice weather during the past couple of days helped us to validate some set up ideas and technical solutions which will help guide our choices for the future. We are looking forward to a good race tomorrow despite a rainy forecast. »
