REBELLION RACING – 6 HOURS OF SHANGHAI TEAM PREVIEW

The REBELLION RACING team is ready for the 6 Hours of Shanghai, the seventh round of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship. The 6 Hours of Shanghai will take place at the International Circuit of Shanghai on Saturday 1st of November. Located in the suburbs of Shanghai, the International Circuit of Shanghai is a 5.451 km track built in 2004. Comprising long straights and short turns, the track hosts the F1 Grand Prix of China, it has been a regular fixture on the FIA WEC calendar since 2012.

REBELLION Racing has modified its driver lineup in the #13 Rebellion R-One AER entry for the 6 Hours of Shanghai and the 6 Hours of Bahrain, Swiss driver Mathéo Tuscher will join regular drivers Dominik Kraihamer and Alexandre Imperatori for the two remaining races of the season.
In the #12 Rebellion R-One AER Nicolas Prost and Mathias Beche will share the driving as they successfully did at the 6 Hours of Fuji. Nick Heidfeld will be back in the #12 car at the next round in Bahrain as scheduled.

After a positive race at the 6 Hours of Fuji, the Swiss team expect to deliver an even better performance at the 6 Hours of Shanghai as the race could be a championship decider for the team. REBELLION Racing can secure the win in the 2015 FIA WEC Endurance Trophy for LMP1 Teams if one of the two Rebellion R-One AER cars finishes the race as the first of the LMP1 Privateers. In this case, it would be the fourth FIA WEC Endurance Trophy win for LMP1 Teams for the Swiss team after their titles in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

The 6 Hours of Shanghai race will start on Sunday 1st of November at 11h00 local time.

Bart Hayden, REBELLION Racing Team Manager : « We are coming to the 6 Hours of Shanghai focussed to achieve the best results. We have improved the cars in the past races and the Privateer win at the 6 Hours of Fuji proved that we are heading in the right direction with this project. There is an opportunity for us to win the championship after Sunday’s race, so we will be working for that.
Mathéo Tuscher is a new addition to our drivers this weekend. It will be quite a learning curve for him stepping into the #13 Rebellion R-One AER LMP1 car for the first time at a race weekend, but he is a confident character and he knows the circuit having raced at Shanghai previously, so we are sure that he will quickly find his feet.».
