Facu Regalia took qualifying duties the MSG Motosport Porsche 991 Cup and set 6th-fastest time in 991 class for tomorrow´s 24 hours of Dubai

At Dubai Autodrome, where the 24-hour race will take place tomorrow – the season opener for the 24H Series-, Argentina´s Facu Regalia qualified the Porsche 991 Cup 6th in class. Besides, he finished 34th overall, a remarkable result as 100 cars have been entered for the race. The 2016 24 hours of Dubai are due to start tomorrow at 14.00 (local time).

Regalia took part in several private and free practice sessions, which were very useful heading into qualifying. Regalia, sharing the car with Daniel Cammish, Martin Konrad, Luca Rettenbacher and Freddy Nordström, finished 3rd, a nearly perfect appetizer to qualifying session.

Regalia was appointed to qualify the #62 Porsche 991 Cup and clocked a best time of 2:04.954, 6th and barely more than a second behind the pole position time.

Following qualifying, Facu carried out valuable night practice with Argentinean racer and MSG Motorsport still making improvements on the car.

The 24 hours of Dubai are due to start tomorrow at 14.00(local time). Race strategy and stints sequence will be set by the team early in the morning with the sole goal of taking the class honors.

Facu Regalia: “Our qualifying session wasn´t as we expected because temperature changed, so the car was different to handle and it took us by surprise. Our goal was to finish in the top-three and we couldn´t meet that target. I had to deal with oversteering and lack of traction when previously we hadn´t experienced something like that before. Anyway, even when our qualifying pace wasn´t as good as expected, we think our race is pretty good. Our grid position isn´t bad at all and we feel confident for tomorrow. Our goal is to be in win contention.”
