The 2016 Blancpain GT Series will run over ten weekends, and will see the best GT drivers and cars in action. But that is not all. Fans will also be able to enjoy fast-paced, action-packed races from several high-level championships which will be part of the support program for the Blancpain GT Series.

For years now, the Blancpain GT Series has had the honour of the company of two championships that have become stalwarts of the motorsports scene in their own right: the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup and the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo. The latter, consisting of over forty Lamborghini Huracan in Super Trofeo-configuration, will be present at the five rounds of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup. The Formula Renault 2.0 NEC, an important step in the career of any single-seater driver, will be part of the same meetings, with the exception of the Paul Ricard meeting, where its place will be taken by the new Formula V8 3.5 Series. At the Total 24 Hours of Spa there will be even more single-seater action, with the young talents of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. In Silverstone and at the Nürburgring, the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup will enjoy the company of the always spectacular SEAT Leon Eurocup.

The newly-named Blancpain Sports Club will of course be present during the Blancpain GT Series meetings as well. The Blancpain GT Sports Club – the sprint series reserved for Bronze drivers – will be on the programme in Misano, Brands Hatch, Paul Ricard, Spa and at the grand finale in Barcelona, whereas the exclusive cars of the Blancpain Ultracar Sports Club can be admired during the Brands Hatch, Paul Ricard and Barcelona meetings. The GT4 European Series, now back in the hands of the SRO Motorsports Group, will join the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup in Monza.

For the first time in its history the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup will be part of a meeting of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship, during their Nürburgring and Budapest meetings.

With other series and championships like the DMV GTC, Italian F2 and F4 championships, SCC Challenge, GT Cup, and the Mini Challenge part of selected meetings of the 2016 Blancpain GT Series as well, it is clear that the ten race-weekends of the world’s best GT Series will see plenty of exciting racing.

Giorgio Sanna (Head of Motorsport of Automobile Lamborghini): “At the Lamborghini Squadra Corse we consider the partnership with SRO and the Blancpain GT Series a valued asset dedicated to our customer racing activities, starting from the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo to the strong commitment of our customer teams in GT3.”
