BE Motorsport concludes preseason testing in Barcelona
The Spanish-based team, which will contest the V de V with a new Ligier-Nissan JSP3 LMP3, carried out a two-day testing at Circuit de Barcelona last week. Their three full-time drivers, Javier Ibrán, Toni Castillo and Mathijs Bakker, were joined by Le Mans legend Jan Lammers.
BE Motorsport ended preseason testing at the end of last week. Spain´s outfit completed a two-day test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya with their lineup of drivers for the 2016 V de V series: Spaniards Javier Ibrán and Toni Castillo and Dutchman Mathijs Bakker, they all at the wheel of recently acquired Ligier-Nissan JSP3 LMP3. Another driver from Netherlands, former Formula 1 and IndyCar driver and 1988 Le Mans 24 hours and 1990 Daytona 24 hours winner Jan Lammers also attended the test and assisting the roster of BE Motorsport. Lammers made available his valuable experience throughout the two-day test.
“We took a massive step forward in Barcelona. After testing at Estoril and Barcelona we have to continue to progress and work towards our goals. It has truly been a pleasure to work with Jan, because he is one of the most seasoned prototype drivers out there and we gained valuable experience with the car when he was driving. Besides, the V de V´s season opener takes place at this track next month”, Ibrán explained. He was confident about “season ahead. It will be a challenge for sure, because it´s an extremely professional championship and we are making our first outing with the LMP3 car. But I´m optimistic. We all have experience in endurance world and we shared the same car in the
past”.
The V de V kicks off the 2016 season at Montmeló (18-20 March) and then visiting Le Mans-Bugatti (22-24 April), Paul Ricard (20-22 May), Motorland Aragón (1-3 July), Mugello (9-11 September), Magny-Cours (7-9 October) and Estoril (4-6 November).
