AVF was once again among the frontrunners today at Montmelò, as the teams and drivers of the 2016 Formula V8 3.5 championship rounded out the first collective test of the season. The team, led by Adrián Vallés and headquartered just a few kilometers away from the Spanish venue, got some very good satisfactions on day 2 with a fourth and a third place in the morning and afternoon sessions respectively. The team is now confidently looking forward to the next test, scheduled for the 9th and 10th of April at Motorland Aragon. Alfonso Celis and Tom Dillman conducted a cross program today, enabling their technicians to evaluate different solutions and leading to the good results scored by the orange-colored Dallara-Gibson cars.

Alfonso Celis Jr. (#15) Morning: P13 1:30.779 – 41 laps – Afternoon: P4 1:31.059 – 42
“It has been a positive day under many aspects. This morning, a red flag hampered our flying lap with new tires and I also wasn’t completely satisfied with the car’s balance. Then when we put new tires on in the afternoon, I immediately felt the right confidence. We completed several race simulations throughout the whole day and I’m absolutely happy for the work done”.

Tom Dillmann (#16) Morning: P3 1:29.994 – 34 laps – Afternoon: P9 1:31.727 – 28
“It has been another good day of testing, and we tried many new things. The pace this morning was positive on new tyres, we were P3 with many experiments done. It was interesting and we learned a lot of things. In the afternoon, we focused on race runs, practice starts and stuff like that, keeping a set of tyre for next test because it was not necessary for us to use them here”.
