One month after the very successful seventh running of the Dunlop 24H DUBAI at the Dubai. Autodrome, preparations for next year’s 24-hour race (January 10th – 12th, 2013) have already started. “We have received very positive feedback on this year’s race”, says Gerrie Willems on behalf of Dutch agency CREVENTIC, promoter and organiser of the Dunlop 24H DUBAI , in co-operation with DNRT. “This is the best motivation for us to start working on our next events, for which we will continue our successful philosophy, welcoming touring cars and GTs, amateurs and (semi)-professionals to our race.”

With drivers and teams from 40 countries, making it one of the biggest international motor racing events of the year, and a variety of 20 car brands on the grid, the seventh running of the Dunlop 24H DUBAI was hailed as a great success by everyone involved. Media coverage also increased significantly compared to previous events, including extensive live broadcasting by Motors TV and Radio Le Mans. Radio Le Mans has already expressed its intention to be back for the 2013 Dunlop 24H DUBAI.

Early entry fee remains identical for next year, special fee for touring cars

Organisers CREVENTIC have succeeded in keeping the early entry fee (valid until    September 15th, 2012) identical for next year’s race, at the competitive rate of 7,950  Euros including standard transport. To encourage teams with smaller cars (particularly touring cars, with engine capacities up to 2600 cc, competing in the classes A1, A2, A3T and D1) to participate in the Dunlop 24H DUBAI, there is a special entry fee of only 5,000 Euros including standard transport. “Whilst we are always delighted to see big and powerful sportscars and GTs on the grid, some of them with professional or semi-professional drivers, we want to remain loyal to our basic philosophy, meaning that we are also welcoming teams with smaller touring cars like Renault Clio, SEAT Leon Supercopa, Honda Integra, MINI Cooper etc., and amateur drivers in the same way. After all, they helped us build the event from the very first running in 2006”, says Gerrie Willems.

Since that inaugural edition, the Dunlop 24H DUBAI has become firmly established as the first international endurance race of the year for GTs, touring cars and 24H Specials. Dubai in itself is a very attractive destination, with uncrowded and clean beaches and year-round sunshine, luxury hotels and restaurants, serving a variety of international cuisine, world-class shopping malls, gold and spice souks, desert adventures and heritage attractions for a fascinating Arabic experience. Dubai is a very modern and open country, safe and open to people from all continents like Europe, Africa, Asia, America and Australia. In short, Dubai has fun and excitement in store for every family, and the Dunlop 24H DUBAI is giving it just that little bit extra for motorsport fans.
