AVF by Adrian Valles delivered a positive Friday performance at Spa-Francorchamps, beginning the third weekend of the Formula V8 3.5 season in great mood.

Championship leader Tom Dillmann and his team-mate Alfonso Celis showed great improvement between the two free practice sessions, providing the team with positive vibes ahead of Saturday’s qualifying and race one. The French driver set the fourth fastest laptime at the end of FP2 in 1’59″520, while the Mexican was just a few hundreds of a second adrift in fifth place (1’59″719).

Qualifying 1 is scheduled for tomorrow at 9:30 AM. Race 1 will start at 13:35.

Alfonso Celis Jr (#15) – FP1 – P9 2’01″094; FP2 P5 1’59″719

“I think it has been a productive day, with a lot of running done. Spa-Francorchamps is a track I like a lot, so the feeling is positive. In the second practice we showed some good performance, especially at the beginning, and then we put on some new tyres going into the top 5, which is where we want to be. Tomorrow is the day that counts, so we need to keep working in the right direction. I’m looking forward to qualifying”.

Tom Dillmann (#16) – FP1 – P13 2’02″400; FP2 – P4 1’59″520

“We tried a couple of things that could suit this track, which is quite aero dependent and the results in the end have been good. As always, we’re not the strongest on Fridays. This is becoming a trend, so we have to make the steps we usually do to fight for the pole-position again. I don’t take anything for granted, we need to work to find what we still miss. We’ll see tomorrow”.
