The Tamara Molinaro project is an exciting one and will hopefully become a real success! With the support of Pirelli, Opel and Red Bull as partners, and under the guidance of the successful Austrian rally team BRR, young Italian driver Tamara Molinaro will be introduced to rallying step-by-step. The speedy 18-year-old has done motorsports since the age of 10, and has been a Red Bull athlete for two years now. She is regarded as an exceptional talent within rally sports. “I am lookingforward so much to my first opportunities to drive,” Moli-
naro said. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for me, and that’s why I want to give it my all and get the most out of it.”

Molinaro has already conducted several test rides with Raimund Baumschlager and has impressed the Austrian rally scene legend with her precision, courage and ability to take on an extremely steep learning curve.

Thanks to her promising performances and the team’s good relationship with Dietmar Metrich, who worked as an engineer for BRR for many years and now presides over Opel’s motorsport division as technical manager, the German car producer partnered up to support Molinaro’s rally career. The 18-year-old said: “I took my first test drive in the Opel Adam R2 two weeks ago and it just felt really good from the start.”

A two-year plan devised by Raimund Baumschlager together with all the partners has described 2016 as an intensive year for learning, with a clear focus on various test drives. Rally fans will soon be able to watch Tamara olinaro drive along with her experienced co-driver Ilka inor. The Italian will be in Austria for the Schneebergland Rally (25-26 June) and the Weiz Rally (22-23 July),and in Germany for the German Rally (part of the WRC n 18–21 July) and the Wartburg Rally (5-7 August) here she will be able to gain vital experience as a driver of the lead car. Molinaro’s first races are planned for autumn 2016 or 2017 at the latest.
