AVF by Adrian Valles was back on-track today for the Formula V8 3.5 practice sessions in Le Castellet. The Spanish squad endured a challenging Friday due the high temperatures and the little experience of both drivers at the Paul Ricard circuit. Series leader Tom Dillmann ended up the second session in third, setting a best lap time of 1:50.180 and improving his morning result. Team-mate Alfonso Celis was called to discover a completely new venue, and logged a personal best lap time of 1:51.912 during the afternoon session. Dillmann and Celis will try to make further progress on Saturday. Qualifying 1 is scheduled for tomorrow at 10:55, while Race 1 will start at 15:50.

Alfonso Celis Jr (#15) – FP1 – P14 1:53.936; FP2 P13 1:51.912

“Today it’s been an hard day. I was prepared to give my best, but maybe I was the only one who never drove here. I decided to focus on running with the medium downforce configuration to prepare for the races. At the end I tried to push a little bit more with new tyres but I found some traffic. We hope to put everything together tomorrow and show some good performance”.

Tom Dillmann (#16) – FP1 – P7 1:50.714; FP2 – P3 1:50.180

“I never drove on this track with a car like that, I just run on the short configuration but with a Porsche GT. I had to learn the track again, so I can say it went positive. I had only one set of new tyres compared to the others, the car was working well. Let’s see what will happen tomorrow in qualifying”.
