The Mahon-born driver supported by Triatges Menorca, Motorisa Renault Trucks Mallorca, Potencia Alquiler de Maquinaria y Pinturas R-M, following his first outing in SEAT Eurocup, heads into second half of Spanish Endurance Championship season with round four at Circuit de Valencia. Salom currently commands drivers´ standings with his Baporo Motorsport-entered SEAT León Cup Racer
Faust Salom starts back the Spanish Endurance Championship after a long summer break with another doubleheader event at the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo, following an almost 3-month hiatus as Motorland Aragón (Alcañiz) hosted round three in June. However, Balearic Islands´ driver recently made a one off round in SEAT Eurocup, the hotly contested one-make series organized by SEAT Sport. Despite Salom made his debut, he immediately proved talent and pure speed. At the wheel of a SEAT León Cup Racer entered by Baporo Motorsport once again, Salom stepped into the unknown at Red Bull Ring (Spielberg). In spite of it was completely new circuit for the Spaniard, he managed to secured a front-row start in qualifying and missing the pole position by a mere twenty thousandths. Later, Salom came fifth in race 1 but battling with drivers such as Mikel Azcona or Mario Dablander, among others. Unfortunately, temperature issues compromised his second race at the weekend and it brought to an early end Sunday´s race. It didn´t alter the fact Salom made an extremely positive start in the series and it resulted in an eye-catcher for everybody attending the event. Now, and following his first impressive appearance in Austria, Salom will contest the Spanish Endurance championship in Cheste with only a thing in mind: to enhance his title chances even more. At the wheel of his Baporo Motorsport SEAT León Cup Racer shared with Jaume Font, Salom sits first in TCR, SEAT León Trophy,

Clase 1 and Junior classifications both in Spanish Endurance Championship and Long Distance. Menorca´s racer clinched win in Barcelona and Los Arcos and finished second twice at Motorland Aragón due to huge handicap compensation time but scoring valuable points ahead of Valencia and Jarama rounds. Saturday´s race 1 (48´plus 1 lap) takes place on Saturday at 16.45 and race 2 (3h plus 1 lap) on Sunday at 9.00. Faust Salom quotes:

“.My first participation in the SEAT Eurocup at Red Bull Ring was an amazing experience and I was able to demonstrate my speed despite I was battling with much more experienced racing drivers. My second place in qualifying was a nice achievement but my fifth place in race one was certainly a bit of bittersweet because I was expecting something better. Anyway it was a nice experience and I learnt so much! Now I know I´m ready for my next step on the international scene.” “For sure it was a morale booster and now I head to Valencia stronger than ever. The event at Ricardo Tormo circuit is the second-to-last round and we lie first. We have a solid points lead but we shouldn´t be complacent. We need to push harder than ever because our rivals will take advantage from our mistakes. We have extra handicap time as a result of our previous results but it won´t stop us. Our goal is to be in win contention and strengthen our lead.” “Of course, I would like to thank people helping me over the course of the season and, of course, my sponsors Triatges Menorca, Motorisa Renault Trucks Mallorca, Potencia Alquiler de Maquinaria and Pinturas R-M, they all playing a key role. Now we are closer than ever to win the title.”
