In their return to GT, Aston Martin Racing set the 4th fastest time of FIA WEC competitors in LM GTE Pro with the Vantage GTE , while Americans team Krohn Racing sit in second place on the LM GTE Am grid. John Gaw (Aston Martin Racing Team Principal, Aston Martin Vantage GTE #97, LM GTE Pro): “To come here with a new car and record a lap that was 1.5 seconds quicker than last year’s pole time is very encouraging. We know from testing that the Vantage GTE has terrific reliability, and we now know that it also has the potential to be very quick, too. There is lots of pace still to be found in the car because it’s very early on in the development cycle and the team is looking forward to demonstrating its potential over the course of the season.”

Tracy Krohn (Krohn Racing team owner and driver, Ferrari 458 Italia #57, LM GTE Am): “The most challenging factor for the race will simply be traffic. It is a test of patience. There will be a lot of prototype cars out there, more than we’re used to in this race. It’s a big field of 64 cars. I think the key here will be to be willing to accept some pretty slow traffic congested laps.”
