LMP1 qualifying : OAK Racing and Strakka Racing

Two other great results at the end of qualifying: the top 5 for Moreau/Baguette/Kraihamer (OAK Racing), and the Strakka (Leventis/Watts/Kane) qualified in the top 10 for their first appearance in the premier prototype class. Guillaume Moreau (OAK-Pescarolo #15 OAK Racing LMP1, 5th): “I knew that Honda would be very fast, especially the Muscle Milk and drivers who know the circuit. So I’m not disappointed to be behind them and Audi. We are just behind the big names in endurance and we can be proud of what we accomplished. That said, I know I can have confidence in the speed of the car for the race! “

Danny Watts (Honda ARX-03a #21, Strakka Racing, LMP1, 7th) “Warming my tyres up didn’t take long due to the high ambient track temperatures and I knew that I had only three shots at qualifying. My first flying lap had to be aborted due to traffic but I had two further clear runs and gave it everything. Qualifying is such a small part of a twelve-hour race and anything can happen. The car feels good as a race package, so it all bodes well for the race.”
