Faust Salom hoping to round off successful season
The Mahon-born driver supported by Triatges Motorsport, Motorisa Renault Trucks Mallorca, Potencia Alquiler de Maquinaria and Pinturas R-M was crowned Spanish Endurance champion in TCR class and SEAT León Trophy and his goal is to claim both Class 1 and Junior trophy as well in his Baporo Motorsport SEAT León Cup Racer
Faust Salom will contest the season finale of the Spanish Endurance Championship after a highly successful year for young Spain´s driver. Last month, Salom secured both titles in TCR class and SEAT León Trophy at Circuit de la Comunitat Valencia with still one round left. The driver of Baporo Motorsport, one of the most promising touring car racing´s rising stars on the European scene, arrives in Madrid to claim additional success at the wheel of his Baporo Motorsport-entered SEAT León Cup Racer shared with Jaume Font. Menorca island´s driver is also chasing Class 1 and Junior titles both in the Spanish Endurance series and Long Distance, a milestone for such a young driver. Salom is performing extremely well throughout the season and after four rounds held at tracks such as the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the Circuito de Navarra, Motorland Aragón and the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo, the young driver born in Mallorca achieved four pole positions and wins and podiums in each round to earn title. Spain´s famous Jarama circuit is one of the most challenging race tracks in the Iberian Peninsula but it promises to be another fertile ground for Salom and his goal is to step onto the podium once again. Another impressive entry list and heavy time handicap will be two other obstacles to overcome. Unlike other rounds, Saturday will be devoted to qualifying session and a 125-minute race, which will take place at 11.00 and 16.55 respectively.
Faust Salom´s quotes
“Finally the Spanish Endurance Championship comes to an end and despite we secured both TRC and SEAT León Trophy titles, which are the most important titles, our goal now is to earn both Class 1 and Junior trophy as well. To be honest, our chances are quite big to claim both titles.” “I´m really pleased because we made a nice work throughout the season and after a successful weekend in Valencia we were crowned champions with still one round remaining. I´m looking forward to competing in Madrid because I feel pretty positive and we can win everything.. We know it won´t an easy task but with our good rhythm and previous results we will have a good starting point for the weekend.” “There is no better way to finish a season than winning everything. I´m sure we can win. Another personal goal is to set my fifth pole position of the season. I should to thank all those supporting on social media and press because without your help nothing would be the same. Of course, my sponsors Triatges Menorca, Motorisa Renault Trucks Mallorca, Potencia Alquiler de Maquinaria and Pinturas RM were key factors. Together we all have a bright future ahead.
