Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport scored a podium placing at the final event of the FIA Formula 3 European

The German team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport from Berlin scored a podium placing at the final season event of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship this weekend (14th to 16th of October) with the races 28 to 30 in the main programme of the DTM. At the 29th race on Saturday afternoon, David Beckmann from Hagen (second place of the rookie drivers at this race), finished third – for the second time this season. It was the third podium placing for the racing stable from the German capital city in this high class offspring racing series. Mikkel Jensen (both Dallara Mercedes-Benz) from Denmark also finished third in Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium).

The Dane dropped out due to a collision at the Hockenheim opening race at the 4.574 km long track and finished 15th at the race on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, he didn’t start. David Beckmann started from the end of the field 12 on Saturday morning and made his way up to the 12th position during the race. On Sunday his car got hit by a combatant being in the top ten of the field and David had to drive to the pit to get a new front spoiler. He finished the race on position 18. David Beckmann finished seventh of the rookie ranking, although he missed the first six season runs, because he wasn’t 16 years old, which is the minimum age to take part at this series. He finished 15th at the overall ranking, his team colleague Mikkel Jensen 12th. FIA Formula 3 European Champion Lance Stroll (Dallara Mercedes-Benz) from Canada won all three races at the Hockenheimring.

„With David Beckmann we have a very talented and competitive rookie, who developed quite well at the two racing weekends, although he missed the four test drives and the first two season events“, said team principal Peter Mücke. „We reached our goal to qualify young drivers and bring them forward, the two placings on position three of David this season speak for themselves. And also his pole position for the first race at the Hockenheimring that was disallowed unfortunately. When he crossed the curbs at the qualifying the control saw curb wear at the bottom panel. At the check, six tenth were missing“, explained the team principal.

Now that the FIA Formula 3 European Championship is over, the season for the team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport goes on. „We will have test drives as a preparation for the Formula 3 Grand Prix in Macau“, said Peter Mücke. David Beckmann and a later nominated driver will take part at this event for the German racing stable from 17th to 20th of November.
