AVF by Adrián Vallés put together a great performance in collective testing for the Formula V8 3.5 championship at Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya, in the opening activities for the 2016 series finale. Tom Dillmann set the fastest lap of the CT1 segment before ending up second in CT2, while Alfonso Celis Jr scored P9 and P6 respectively.

The team carried on an huge amount of work in preparation for the event after the previous round at Jerez, and the results were visible straight away on Friday. The day went on flawlessly except for a small 5-minute delay of CT1 due to the other categories being off to a late start. The second run featured a rainfall with 16 minutes to go: race control declared the session wet but did not stop the going.

Tom Dillmann – CT1: P1 – CT2:P2

“Good day overall, the team made a good job between Jerez and here to change everything on the car to make sure we had no doubt. From the first lap I felt very good with no problems at all, the car feels normal, like when it was fast. Now we are working on the details to be sure we’ll be ready for tomorrow, so to be finally back to normal without headaches”.

Alfonso Celis Jr. – CT1: P9 – CT2:P6

“I think it was a very productive day, we still have to see exactly where we are tomorrow, because you never know where you are in free practice. We’re pleased we’re much closer to the top than last week-end and the previous ones. As a team, we’re generally closer to the Top-6. Now it’s all about tomorrow, but I had good chemistry with the car especially on used tyres. It was good enough”
