REBELLION Racing secured their seventh LMP1 Privateer Pole Position of the season for tomorrow’s 6 Hours of Shanghai race, the eigth round of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship.

Alexandre Imperatori and Dominik Kraihamer in the Rebellion R-One AER #13 qualified first of the LMP1 Privateers in front of the #4 CLM ByKolles car.
Alexandre Imperatori and Dominik Kraihamer achieved an average lap time of 1:49.828 and a fastest lap of 1:49.542. In so doing, the #13 Rebellion R-One AER will start tomorrow’s race from the fourth row on the grid.

Alexandre Imperatori – Rebellion R-One AER #13 : « I am pleased with the way the Qualifying session went today, the car is much more balanced as we struggled a bit during free practice, we didn’t know what to expect with the amount of grip during quali and I probably didn’t use every last bit of it. The changes we made on the setup are heading the right way and we will work with our engineers to improve the car further for the race. It’s good to be in front today, I hope we will have a clean race tomorrow. Once again the team did a good job.»

Dominik Kraihamer – Rebellion R-One AER #13 : « I am really happy with this LMP1 Privateer Pole Position. We are having a trouble free weekend so far. We were able to achieve our programme of work prior to the qualifying session. I am very happy with my flying lap, although there’s still slight potential. We are pleased with the pace of the car, but I think it’s closer and closer on one lap with the ByKolles car. It’s good to have competition, that’s what we like. We are confident for the race.

Bart Hayden – REBELLION Racing Team Manager : «The drivers and the team did well to achieve the lap times that they posted, we are pleased with car #13’s pace and starting position on the grid. ByKolles showed good pace in the practice sessions and I’m sure they will race hard tomorrow. We are aiming for a trouble free race.»
