Hexis racing – A good Omen?
While McLaren Racing got its Formula 1 season off to a great start with victory in Australia, the Hexis team is preparing to defend its FIA GT1 World title. The French team’s McLaren MP4-12C GT3s have already racked up a lot of mileage on the Lédenon and Navarra circuits. The squad’s new site www.hexisracing.com is also up and running on the net!
Last week’s good news was the announcement of a mouth-watering field of cars that will do battle for the 2012 world title. The Hexis McLarens will face tough opposition from Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz AMG, BMW, Audi, Ford GT and Aston Martin! “We’re on schedule with our timetable,’ says Philippe Dumas, the team manager. “Our four drivers have all had track time in the car, and we still have another two days on the Navarra circuit before the collective test at Nogaro.”
Drivers: Fred Makowiecki and Hexis have forged strong links since the Frenchman joined the team in 2007. Dutchman, Stef Dusseldorp has earned everybody’s respect in a single season. On the other hand, Alvaro Parente and Grégoire Demoustier are newcomers to the squad. “I’m particularly happy with the team spirit of my drivers,” underlines Dumas. “Alvaro is a great guy in every respect and not too bad behind the wheel either! Greg is being well coached by Nicolas Lapierre. He’s understood that Alvaro’s a great team-mate and that we’re not here just to mess around. We’re a closely-knit team and we’ll give 200% and we need our four drivers to achieve our aims.”
Site: On the web, Hexis celebrates the arrival of spring with the launch of a totally revamped internet site www.hexisracing.com. It will adopt a slightly off-beat approach, and will be mainly devoted to current news and multimedia content (photos, videos, texts) refreshed on a regular basis.
The 2012 FIA GT1 World Championship will kick off on home turf for reigning champions, Hexis Racing, during the ‘Coupes de Pâques’ on the Nogaro circuit between 7-9 April.
