Team Icer Brakes aims to start season with a bang at Dubai 24H
Spain´s Team Icer Brakes is set to start new 2017 season as the curtain-raiser to the international endurance season will take place at the Dubai 24 hours on 12-14 January. With an impressive 98-car field on the starting grid, Spaniards Jesús Díez Villarroel and José Manuel De los Milagros will race under Icer Brakes banner at the wheel of a Sorg Rennsport-entered BMW M235i Racing Cup.
José Manuel De los Milagros and Jesús Díez Villarroel, driving the 330-horsepower BMW M235i Racing Cup, took class honors in Cup 1 at the 24 hours of Slovakia Ring counting towards the International Touring Car Endurance Series last year.
Before leaving for Dubai, the Madrid-born drivers expressed their wish of finishing on the podium in Cup 1 class, which features extremely close racing as all cars are equal. Therefore, traffic management should play a key role throughout the race.
Jesús Díez commented the 24 hours of Dubai is a real challenge due to its intense traffic of 98 cars and it will demand great concentration in order to avoid losing valuable time. Similarly, it will be important to be very cool minded to overtake other cars.
On the other hand, José Manuel De los Milagros will have yet another chance to prove he is world-class driver in another 24-hour fray. His goal will be to put down a good pace out front and pull away from the rest of the field.
The duo of Spanish drivers already claimed title in the Spanish GT Championship and they won their class at 2016 24 hours of Barcelona last year in a Porsche 991 Cup sponsored by Icer Brakes, the brakes brand based in Navarra (Spain).
