29th Techno Classica World Tour in Essen: Ruote da Sogno stars
With yesterday’s press and industry preview, the 29th edition of Techno Classica opened in the city of Essen, in Rhine-Westphalia. Among the world’s foremost classic car events, the occasion attracts 1250 exhibitors from 30 nations and features 2500 cars. The show ends at 18.00 on Sunday 9 April and is expected to draw over 200,000 visitors.
The Ruote da Sogno stand will be in PAVILION 3 AREA C. This is probably the event’s most revered pitch and is opposite the Mercedes Benz Classic and Volvo Classic positions. The atelier’s 120 m² open space will feature a 1971 Ferrari Dino 246GT as well as a 1976 308 GTB, a Porsche 993 Carrera RS from 1995, a rare 991 Targa 4S dating from 2016 (only a few examples were ever produced), an AC 16 Drophead Coupè from 1937 and a perfectly-restored 1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta SS.
Flanking the cars will be a selection of fine Italian motorcycles to complete a line-up that represents a mobile museum and showcases the Reggio-based operator. Essen will see Ruote da Sogno display an MV Agusta Meccanica Verghera from 1976, a 1952 Vespa 125cc Sei Giorni, a 1974 Laverda 750 SFC, a 2009 Moto Guzzi MGS-01, a Ducati 900 dating from 1984 and a gem from the 1930s, the 1934 Bianchi 500cc Super Sport.
Patrizio Zaccarelli (Ruote da Sogno’s Head of Marketing): «Yesterday in Essen, with the press and industry preview, opens what is considered by journalists to be probably the event’s the best-ever edition for the quality and quantity of the cars and for the motoring marques that are here. We will be exhibiting in area C opposite Mercedes Benz and Volvo and this fills us with pride as it shows the organisers appreciate us and what we do. As for the market, I have to say that we are seeing a sort of “rebound” in values, with prices up on those seen at Rétromobile in Paris. This is a sign that the market is still growing and probably will be for a while. There is a lot of interest in our vehicles which, with prices rising across the board, are competitive compared to our European competitors».
